Manifesters was formed in January of 1999 by Versifier (Mike Fessler), as a student organization at Minnesota State University in Mankato Minnesota to promote HipHop culture and awareness.

Versifier, along with original members Mesia (Zavier Smith) and DJ Slow Motion (Dan Schweizer), formed the crew Manifesters and began writing songs and performing both in Mankato and Minneapolis/St. Paul.

	From 1999 to 2001 Versifier was a staple in the Minneapolis/St. Paul open mic scene while Manifesters was performing shows with an ever-evolving line-up that included new comers NiiBox (Nii Adjetey Mensah), Don't Sleep (Lenny McQuen), Online (Joe Fessler), and the Manifest Band.
Manifesters' first album, Versifier's "Beneath the Cover" EP was released in March of 2001 and helped solidify Manifesters as one of the top emerging HipHop acts in the Twin Cities.
Manifesters now has a concrete roster consisting of Versifier, NiiBox and Online

and have established themselves as one of the most diverse live HipHop acts in the Twin Cities. Combining beats, rhymes, beatbox, African percussion, vocals, bass, and choreography into their performances, Manifesters have rocked over 150 shows across the Midwest. Manifesters have performed with such great artists as Mos Def, Mystic, Digital Underground, Far From Falling, Brother Ali, Binary Star, Eyedea and Abilities, Los Nativos, Unknown Prophets, Toki Wright, Heiruspecs, Desdamona and Carnage, among countless others.
